Tennantite
Well-formed crystals of any sulphide are considered rare to uncommon from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia. This miniature of Tennantite displays four intergrown sooty-black tetrahedral crystals up to 3 cm on edge with an overall matt lustre. The Tennantite shows very typical natural etching of the crystal faces, yet overall the sharp crystal forms have been retained. Scattered over the Tennantite are white lustrous stubby 1 mm crystals of Willemite and sparkling black elongate micro-crystals of sulphide-included Mimetite. The Tennantite cluster has formed on a group of prismatic crystals of Quartz to 0.8 cm long and several Quartz crystals are also scattered on the Tennantite. All are on a mass of naturally etched Galena. A well crystallized specimen of Tennantite from Tsumeb which displays well!
