Semseyite
Semseyite is an uncommon lead antimony sulphide first described in 1881 from the Baia Sprie mine in Maramureș Co., Romania. This superb large miniature specimen is from the famous Herja mine in neighbouring Baia Mare where Semseyite occurs in much better crystals than the Type Locality. Very well formed metallic silvery grey tabular to platy crystals of Semseyite display wonderfully as stacked 'books', or pages in books. These Intergrown groups of crystals measure up to 1.7 cm across and sit on a dark brown-black crystallized Sphalerite matrix, with some metallic yellow Chalcopyrite. Ex Franz Lammer (1914-1997) collection.
