This rare crystal spray of platy Volborthite comes from a singular discovery at the Milpillas mine, Cuitaca, Mexico in about 2014. Usually, Volborthite only occurs as smears on rock, or single small platy crystals, making this find truly exceptional. Off-matrix, this delightful thumbnail-sized cluster of very lustrous dark olive green stacked platy crystals of Volborthite is extremely fine. There are one or two areas where it appears to have been attached to matrix but overall, these are exceptional Volborthite crystals - really lustrous and like layers of scales. An extremely fine example of this very rare species.
