TITANITE
Leaf-green to burnt umber, glassy crystals of Titanite pervade an interesting and aesthetic matrix of intergrown saucer-like disks of milky Quartz. The Quartz has been preferentially coated with sub-mm crystals of a dark bottle-green chlorite mineral or possibly chlorite included Adularia (feldspar). From Hohe Tauern near to Salzburg, Austria, the largest Titanite crystal measures 1.8 cm long, is perfectly terminated and displays well amongst slightly smaller Titanites at the apex of the specimen. The specimen is mounted on a square colourless acrylic base. A terrific small miniature of Titanite.
