Lustrous dark brown to translucent clove-brown crystals of Cassiterite measuring to 1 cm sit on a fine-grained, pale pink Granitic matrix from the Imperial Goonbarrow China Clay Pit at Bugle, due north of St. Austell in Cornwall. This small miniature is ex. the John Jones Collection and comes with his label plus a handwritten note explaining the specimen was originally collected by Sir Arthur Russell in 1910 and has passed through the hands of Shepton Mallet mineral dealer Reg Parkinson. One label reads “Imperial Goonbarrow Clay Pit, St. Austell, Cornwall. C. 1910. Sir Arthur via R.F.D. Parkinson, who purchased a job lot from Sir Arthur”.\n
