Siderite
Not only is this an excellent large miniature of well crystallised Siderite from the famous East Pool mine, between Camborne and Redruth in Cornwall, England, but is accompanied by an incredibly rare old label by William Peters (1830-1913) of Redruth. A roughly 6 cm dimeter dome of milky Quartz veinstone has its upper surface covered in small, deep chocolate brown crystals of Siderite, most of which are translucent and transmit a golden-burnt orange glow. Peters, one of the last important Cornish dealers, sold this specimen to Dr Freidrich Krantz while he was visiting Redruth in 1904.
