This is a beautiful large miniature Amethyst specimen from the classic European source at Banská Štiavnica (Schemnitz), Slovakia. A lovely array of well-formed prismatic crystals of colour-zoned colourless, milky to Amethyst Quartz measuring to 4 cm in length form on a thin bed of Quartz with later smaller colourless crystals of Quartz protruding out from the base of the main crystals. The Amethyst section of the Quartz is seen as a purple phantom just below the terminations. There is some minor damage to tips of the larger crystals but this does not detract from the very colourful showy nature of this specimen. Ex Martin Bohaty collection.
