Bustamite
Bustamite is a calcium manganese inosilicate and famously occurs as superb rose to candy-pink crystals within the Broken Hill orebody in New South Wales, Australia. This excellent large thumbnail is from North Mine at Broken Hill and is composed of several intergrown crystals of translucent dusky cherry Bustamite, two of which have rounded and partly etched terminations. The largest crystal measures 3.5 x 1.2 x 0.7 cm; it is rectangular in cross section with a semi-lustrous, somewhat greasy lustre and corroded pyramidal termination. A good thumbnail of the relatively rare species Bustamite.
