A splendid, sawn 8 mm thick section of a Baryte stalactitic structure from Portaway mine near to the village of Peak Forest in Derbyshire. The display face has been lightly lapped to give a smooth, semi-polished matt surface. Concentric bands of pastel cream, yellow, red and bluish-grey Baryte display beautifully in what is now a Derbyshire classic from the extensive Dirtlow Rake vein system.
