Familiar species such as Pyromorphite would seem to have been known about forever, with their first discovery lost in time. However, for Pyromorphite this is not the case, with this lovely example being from its type locality around the city of Zschopau in Saxony, Germany, a little south-east of Chemnitz. Bright acidic lime green Pyromorphite crystals ranging from 4 to 8 mm are aesthetically scattered and embedded over and in a vuggy, naturally etched opaque, milky Baryte.
