Fluorite on Muscovite
A well-formed translucent-gemmy, octahedral, light candy pink crystal of Fluorite measuring to 2.2 cm from Baha in the Gilgit-Baltistan territory of northern Pakistan. This sharp Fluorite crystal sits nicely amongst crystalline silvery-grey Muscovite and colourless hexagonal micro-crystals of Beryl. Distributed throughout this choice miniature are acicular needles of black Tourmaline (likely Schorl). The assemblage of minerals covers a creamy granitic Feldspar-Quartz matrix. Octahedral pink Fluorite is a rare mineral in such pegmatite deposits and this is a delightful example. Ex Jesse Fisher and Joan Kurecka collection.
