Nickelskutterudite (FORMERLY CHLOANTHITE)$2,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A fantastic, large greyish-silver miniature of Nickelskutterudite, formerly named Chloanthite. Chloanthite is now a discredited name as it was found to be a nickel-rich Skutterudite and is now named Nickelskutterudite as a distinct species. Rarely do groups of such well-formed and large (up to 4 cm) Nickelskutterudite crystals occur like this from Saxony, displaying well-defined crystal edges and a superb metallic lustre. A stunning specimen of this old classic mineral from Shaft 38 at Niederschlema in Schlema, Germany. The specimen is accompanied with a reasonably old label, perhaps dating to around the 1950s.\n
