Strontianite
A light amber butterscotch to tan rounded crystal aggregate of Strontianite to 1.5 cm diameter sits on a white Dolomite matrix with Siderite and Quartz. A most attractive miniature from the Mitterberg mining district in Austria where copper mining began about 4,000 years ago. Strontianite is a strontium carbonate, named for the village of Strontian in Argyllshire, Scotland.
