Description
A fine gemmy and delicately tinted lime to apple green crystal of Heliodor, a gem variety of Beryl, from the Volodarsk-Volynskii pegmatite area in Ukraine. The single Heliodor crystal measures to 7 cm and displays many detailed, naturally etched surface patterns with a somewhat elongated tabular appearance. Those in some of the terminated faces display slightly ovalized, elongated hexagons. Towards one side of the termination a section of the prism is missing across an area of 2 x 1 cm, possibly from the mining process. The net weight of this large miniature is 102 grams. This is a fine Heliodor Beryl from the Chamber Pegmatites of Volodarsk-Volynskii.
