Apatite (5 specimens)
Five individual crystals of Fluorapatite from Megiliggar Rocks at Breage on the far south coast of Cornwall and southeast of Marazion. The Megiliggar Rocks are rock formations of the Tremearne pegmatite which project out to sea and are an extension of the Tregonning-Godolphin Granite pluton. The Fluorapatite form as regular and distorted hexagonal prisms varying in colour from pale lilac and asparagus green to milky white. All have a glassy lustre and one prism is overgrown on one face by tiny milky Quartz crystals. The largest of the five specimens (that with the Quartz) measures 1.4 cm and all five are attached to a square acrylic block with mineral-tac. This set of five comes with a Lewis Barton label and two Richard W. Barstow green stock labels.\n
