Barytocalcite
A fine and aesthetic stellate formation of bladed Barytocalcite crystals measuring to 4.7 cm from Nentsberry Haggs mine on Alston Moor, Cumbria, England. The Barytocalcite crystals display a characteristic thin, film-like coating of white Baryte which contrasts nicely against the altered dark Limestone matrix. Barytocalcite is a rare double barium carbonate and in this superb miniature the radiating blades are perfectly formed with no damage.
