Although only a large thumbnail, the Cassiterite attached to a single Quartz crystal forms an exquisite stellate repeated set of twinned crystals. From Horn' Slavkov in the Vary Region of the Czech Republic, the symmetrically twinned cassiterite crystals form a pentagonal star. The Cassiterite is jet black with a brilliant metallic lustre and is attached to the base of a 1.5 cm long colourless Quartz crystal which becomes more transparent towards its termination. A beautiful and most pleasing twinned Czech Cassiterite.
