An extensive drusy coating of glossy, dark olive-green Olivenite covers banded, light brown to pale olive-green radiating Wood Olivenite upon well-formed terminated Quartz crystals in veinstone with some red-brown Goethite. This association of Olivenite upon crystallized Quartz is well-known from Wheal Unity, near the village of St. Day, Cornwall. This material was discovered in around 1800 and most of the best specimens were recovered early in the 19th century. A very fine large miniature to small cabinet specimen. Ex Ian Ackworth collection with a very early Nick Carruth dealer label dating to 1988.
