Fine gemmy pink crystals of Rhodochrosite have formed over previous opaque light pink botryoidal Rhodochrosite from the N'Chwaning Mines, South Africa on a Goethite-Mn oxide matrix with replaced lenticular crystals of Calcite. Scattered over the Goethite are crystals of bright metallic black Bixbyite.
