Well-formed platy crystals of colourless Calcite to 1.8 cm are developed over a botryoidal layer of Mottramite in varied shades of lime and pistachio green. The Calcite crystals show fine nested hexagonal phantoms, inwardly repeating the trigonal symmetry in alternating shades of milky white and light grey. The Mottramite forms beautiful botryoidal spheres to 5 mm with a velvety texture. A splendid cabinet specimen of phantom Calcite on Mottramite from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia.
