MALACHITE
An attractive small cabinet Malachite specimen from the historically important Lichtenberg copper mines at Bad Steben, Franconian Forest, Franconia, Bavaria, Germany. The silky to velvety green Malachite sprays reach 2.7 cm in length and sit upon a black background in gossanous matrix. Good specimens appear to have been found during the 1960s when the mines were active, and during the 1980s and 1990s when collectors excavated the old mine dumps. This is a fine display example and has great pedigree, being Ex Wolfgang E. Henkel and Professor Werner Paar collections.
