Legrandite

An attractive, bright acid yellow and creamy lemon fan of radial crystalline Legrandite from its type locality at the Flor de Pena mine in Mexico, with a further spray of Legrandite to one side. Associated with micro-crystals of light brown Adamite on a red-brown Goethite matrix, the main spray of Legrandite fans out to 4.2 cm with individual acicular crystals of up to 3 cm. The smaller spray of Legrandite is 1 cm tall, laying horizontally across the vuggy surface of the matrix. The patchwork of rich acidic yellow and pale, creamy lemon crystals is a most pleasing combination. Legrandite is a rare zinc arsenate and makes a splendid large miniature which will displays well.
