The reverse of the Native Gold shows a smoother surface with crystal developments at the edges of the specimen. This superb miniature-sized off-matrix crystallized Native Gold is from the famous Round Mountain mine in Nevada, USA, and has a nett weight of 10.3 g. One of the most famous of American Native Gold occurrences, the Round Mountain finds date to the period 2000 to about 2007, and have become important icons of American mineralogy.
