Classic West Cumbrian Quartz from the famous iron mining district. This miniature specimen is from Florence mine, the last mine to close. A very small area of botryoidal Hematite forms the core, overgrown by an aggregate of pyramidal and bipyramidal Smoky Quartz crystals. These are all well-formed, glassy, and in places overgrown and have inclusions of, Specular Hematite. A super, small Cumbrian classic.
