A dramatic display of well-formed colourless to translucent white diamond-shaped monoclinic Selenite crystals measuring to 7.4 cm in length on matrix from the Cavnic mining area in Romania. The main Selenite crystal which stands impressively upright from the matrix, is made up of layers of smaller crystals, some of which fan out in a stepped arrangement from the main crystal. There is a tiny contact mark on the tip of the main crystal, but it is very slight, and a second, very small crystal on one edge of the base is bent from contact. A lovely small cabinet specimen of a Romanian classic that displays very well.
