Prismatic translucent white crystals of 'nail head' Calcite measuring to 1 cm have formed over a Fluorite matrix from Blackdene mine in Weardale, Cumbria. The hexagonal crystals taper outwards from their bases, wheatsheaf-style, with vertically striated prism faces and pitted flat terminations. A quite fascinating Blackdene Calcite and very nicely priced.
