Mimetite var. CAMPYLITE
A dense, compact cluster of burnt-orange intergrown barrel-shaped habit Campylite crystals richly adorn the display face of this miniature specimen from Dry Gill mine in the Caldbeck Fells, Cumbria, England. Individual crystals fall into two groups, one lot averaging 4 mm diameter while the larger are 0.8 to 1 cm. Around the specimen's edges the Mimetite displays lemon to mustard yellow cores with radial crystalline structures. For added interest, small areas of black manganese oxides are probably Coronadite. A fine specimen of Mimetite variety Campylite from this most famous and classic of British localities.
