HENMILITE

A fine specimen of rare Henmilite, forming excellent purple-blue crystals measuring to 5 mm and contrasting against white botryoidal Olshanskyite. Henmilite is a calcium-copper borate and Olshanskyite a calcium borate. The specimen also contains limited areas of a light blue, yet to be described species. From the Fuka mine in Okayama Prefecture, Japan, the type locality for Henmilite. Henmilite is named for Named for Professor Kitinosuke Henmi (1919-1997) and his daughter Dr. Chiyoko Henmi.
