NATIVE Silver$6,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
An excellent specimen of natural wire Native Silver forming an elegant, closed loop on a characteristic white Calcite matrix from the Kongsberg silver mining area in Norway. The specimen also shows other rich areas of intertwined Native Silver wires with a metallic pinkish and grey patina. Mining in Kongsberg began in 1624 and continued uninterrupted for 334 years. The thick wire loop is like the handle to a basket, lending an architectural grandeur to its aesthetic. Other groups of wire twist and loop in and out of the Calcite matrix with even a rich zone of Native Silver through part of its base. A most informative article may be found in The Mineralogical Record, Vol. 17, No. 1 (January-February 1986). This is superb example of Kongsberg Native Silver. Be it to add to your collection in general; form part of a element or Native Silver collection or a suite of Norwegian minerals, this will not disappoint.\n
