Pyromorphite
A beautiful bright mossy leaf green Pyromorphite from the Burgam mine close to Stiperstones in Shropshire, England. Burgam mine is famous for its choice Pyromorphite, which occurs in this specimen as radiating rosettes of micro-acicular crystals and occasional thicker crystals to around 1 or 2 mm tall. The crystal aggregates form dense clusters and also cover a 5.5 cm long ridge of matrix which crosses the centre of the shallow vug in which the crystals are formed. An excellent Pyromorphite that contrasts nicely against the dark grey matrix. This specimen is accompanied with a previous collector's handwritten label.
