Axinite
An off-matrix, small miniature bladed crystal of Axinite from the lesser known Medel Valley, Switzerland. The crystal is actually an intergrowth of two parallel bladed crystals, totaling 34 mm in length. The crystals are glassy and have a good brown colour, but are not as optically bright, or transparent, as some of the French specimens. The edges are mostly razor sharp, but some small nicks can be seen on one edge. The crystals are mounted on an acrylic base. A notable specimen from an unusual Alpine occurrence.
