Baryte
Patchy, pale teal-blue and translucent white blades of Baryte to 6.8 x 5.0 x 1.0 cm form an intergrown framework of crystals from the mines close to Frizington, part of the West Cumberland Iron Field in Cumbria, England. The Baryte crystals have an excellent bright glassy lustre and are attached to a minor plate of matrix, partly covered in micro-crystals of pearly Dolomite. An excellent specimen with hardly any damage and excellent as a display piece.
