Round Mountain mine is justifiably one of the best known localities for crystallized Native Gold in the USA, but this honour is a relatively recent one. The mine is a substantial open pit operation and it was during the early years of the 21st century that really stunning crystallized Native Gold specimens started to be discovered. This beautiful rich small cabinet to very large miniature specimen of Native Gold is both tall (or long) and dramatic. The Native Gold occurs as a complex network of thin, golden-yellow, metallic 'leaves', or veinlets cutting through massive white Quartz. The finer detail of the crystallized Native Gold is wonderful, displaying a filigree texture that is best appreciated using magnification, but still abundantly evident with the naked eye. A fine, rich, display quality Native Gold from this modern day classic mine.
