This super small cabinet (or large miniature) of Quartz and Rhodochrosite was previously described by a colleague (Steve Rust, I think) as "a cool rock!" so praise indeed from the Mineral Meister! I must add the caveat that I would not disagree! The main feature is the 4 cm tall, well formed Quartz crystal that protrudes beautifully from the pale bubble gum pink Rhodochrosite matrix. From the historic Cavnic mine in Maramureș, Romania, the Quartz prism is translucent milky white, which gradually flares outward towards its perfect termination. This really is a charming small cabinet display piece which is sure to please!
