Bournonite
If you have been searching for a reasonably priced fine example of Bournonite from Herodsfoot mine, this small cabinet specimen may just have your name on it! With a rich coverage of Bournonite crystals, many showing fine cogwheel form, scattered amongst characteristic ribs of micro-crystallised drusy Quartz, this is a great example of this highly prized mineral when from this locality. The Bournonite crystals form are broad thin blades up to 1 cm wide, often with sawtooth castellated edges known which led miners to name it cogwheel ore. The specimen comes with two dealer's labels, those of Richard Barstow and Rex Cook.
