A superb, bright specimen of sharp and beautifully developed cuboctahedral Galena crystals to 1 cm from Blackdene mine by the village of Ireshopeburn in Weardale, County Durham, England. The Galena crystals have mirror bright smooth faces with an occasional minor frosting of colourless Calcite and Pyrite. This stunning miniature is from the Slitt Vein within Blackdene mine and was recovered in 1969. The specimen is accompanied by a Secured Minerals (Lindsay Greenbank) stock label and a David I. Green Collection label.
