Walpurgite
A fine micromount specimen of the rare bismuth uranium arsenate hydroxide Walpurgite from its type locality at the Weißer Hirsch mine at Neustädtel in the Schneeberg District of Saxony, Germany. The mineral is named for the Walpurgis Flacher vein within the mine. Bright apricot orange Walpurgite forms as excellent bladed crystals over a complexly crystallised matrix of unknown other species. Please note that Walpurgite is naturally radioactive due to its uranium content, but this is mild and is almost undetectable once sealed within the small Jousi box in which it is contained. The Jousi box will be wrapped in aluminium foil for shipping to minimise any particle emission from the package.\n
