A stunning cabinet specimen of Galena from Blackdene mine by the village of Ireshopeburn in Weardale, County Durham, England. The Galena has a silvery-metallic lustre and forms curved multi-stepped faces over several cubo-octahedral crystals measuring to 5.5 cm in width. Minor pale purple Fluorite is seen between the Galena crystals and several faces of the Galena have greyish clay (?) inclusions around which the Galena has grown. This specimen displays well and is a true English classic. It is accompanied with an earlier German label.
