Arsenopyrite
A lustrous, bright specimen of metallic white-silver Arsenopyrite crystals with a preferential, patchy coating of buttermilk cream Dolomite, from the Trepča Mining Complex in Kosovo. Well-formed, intergrown blocky crystals of Arsenopyrite measuring to 1.3 cm vary between almost cubic to elongated cuboid, their faces displaying a patchwork surface of regular square growth patterns. Some Arsenopyrite crystals are coated with sucrosic-textured Dolomite crystals which vary from micro to a few millimetres. This large miniature/small cabinet specimen sits on a matrix of black massive Sphalerite. A most attractive specimen from Trepča and an excellent example of well-crystallised Arsenopyrite.
