A fabulous 4.5 x 1.2 cm band of bright metallic Native Gold in the form of thick encrustations of matted leaf-gold with finer crystallised dendritic Gold between the leaves. From Ro?ia Montan? in Alba County, Romania, the Gold forms a curved area at one side of an 8 x 7 cm plate of limestone encrusted with micro-crystals of Calcite, tabular creamy-white Baryte and sprinkled with pale golden-metallic cubic Pyrite crystals and occasional Arsenopyrite. The Native Gold leaves tend to be curled around one another to form an intricately tangled mat with finely crystallised surfaces to the leaves. An excellent Native Gold from Ro?ia Montan?, Romania.
