Cassiterite
Highly lustrous, metallic jet-black crystals of Cassiterite measuring to 1.5 cm form a miniature domed mass from Huanuni mine in the Oruro Department of western central Bolivia. This Cassiterite deposit carries the impressive title of the richest of its kind in the world; no mean feat considering the distribution of tin around the world. The well-formed crystals envelop most of the central core of massive Cassiterite with the occasional acicular Quartz crystal protruding. A showy example.
