Malachite
A mixture of granular Cerussite, strongly cemented by a pervading deposition of Malachite, from the Block 14 opencut at Broken Hill Proprietary mine, New South Wales, Australia. The Cerussite appears to have become rubbleised in a shear zone, with a wide range in granular sizes from sub-mm to about, say, 8 mm. The Malachite binds the specimen together, mainly in a granular, anhedral way, but where void-space allows, forms beautiful fibrous rounded plumes to a little over 1 cm high, with a gorgeous silky-satin lustre and of a brilliant, glistening, emerald-green.
