Witherite
A lovely old half nodule of light greyish-white Witherite crystals covering an inner core of massive Witherite and finely divided Galena. From Fallowfield mine near Hexham in Northumberland, the Witherite crystals are consistently between 5 to 7 mm across and semi-translucent with a matt powdery lustre. An unprovenanced old hand written label accompanies the specimen, possibly written by West Cumberland mineral dealer John Graves.
