Sphalerite
A tight cluster of intergrown, lustrous black Sphalerite crystals measuring to around 1.9 cm, from the St Agnes mining district on the north coast of Cornwall, England. Some Sphalerite crystals have small overgrowths of light metallic golden Marcasite and between two crystal a 6 mm long, terminated milky Quartz crystal nestles. Glued to the back of this miniature is an old label printed "Blend, St. Agnes". Sphalerite crystals from St. Agnes are not frequently encountered, so this will be a welcome addition to many a collection which encompasses the St. Agnes mines.
