Smithsonite
This captivating, translucent, deep mustard-lemon-yellow Smithsonite is from the Masua mine on the south western coast of Sardinia, Italy. Finely crystallized cadmium-enriched Smithsonite forms a botryoidal surface with a raised area spherical Smithsonite aggregates towards one end. The Smithsonite is a typical cadmium-yellow and displays a beautiful waxy lustre with a smooth and temptingly tactile texture. The Smithsonite covers an altered grey Limestone matrix. An impressive Cadmium Smithsonite from Sardinia, of a mouth-watering colour.
