Brazilianite
A translucent to semi-transparent, yellowish lime to zingy apple green crystal of Brazilianite with white Albite and cream to colourless Muscovite crystals. From Cava di Galilea in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, Brazil, the crystal has a perfect apex on the termination, with the lower half of one side infilled with Muscovite mica. The Brazilianite crystal does not have complete prism faces because of the surrounding Albite. The termination measures approximately 3 x 2 cm in cross section and is beautiful, with sharp edges, mirror smooth faces and a gorgeous glassy lustre. On one of the lower edges, at the contact of the prism and termination, a 10 x 5 mm conchoidal fracture forms a shallow depression on one face, but this is negligible to the appearance of the specimen as a whole. An impressive Brazilianite from Cava di Galil'ia.
