A lovely old-time Calcite from the Egremont mining district in west Cumbria, England. Sharp, trigonal nail-head crystals with perfect terminations radiate out from a small area of brick-red Hematite-rich Calcite on the base. The Calcite crystals are developed to approximately 3 x 2 x 2 cm, are colourless, but overall a translucent milky-white and have smooth prism faces and gently striated terminations. A terrific Calcite from Egremont in west Cumbria, England; typical of specimens from Bigrigg mine.
