A superb specimen of Calcite from the Bigrigg Iron Mining area. The specimen displays a fine array of lustrous sharply formed Calcite crystals measuring to 2.7cm tall. The Calcite crystals are strongly terminated by a steep three faced pyramid. They are very gemmy, and distinctly show the double refraction property of Calcite. The crystals have formed around a domed hollow, which means it stands and displays to advantage from all sides. An excellent Calcite specimen from England.
