Silver on Copper
A beautiful silver "tree" is accented by contrasting copper crystals in a classic combo from Michigan's copper country. This metallic piece comes to us from the Jack Halpern collection (#3265) and features spinel-twinned silver formations. The combo of these two metals together is often referred to as a silver-copper "half-breed." This is a gorgeous miniature from the famed collection of our friend, Jack Halpern #3265. He has an old label with this from the 1800s, from the Northwestern University collection, which was sold to Gene Schlepp and Larry Conklin in the 1970s. It is therefore a survivor from the early heyday of Michigan, and it was well known that many specimens were donated by alumni to Northwestern at the time. It is simply pretty, bright, and elegant, a fine miniature and a fine silver.
