Set aesthetically on a snow-white, granular Calcite matrix is a well formed Hackmanite crystal, measuring 3.3 cm in length. These Hackmanites from the marbles of the Koksha Valley in Afghanistan are the world's finest. The crystal is lustrous and translucent with a pleasing pale purplish color with some tiny gem areas along the prism faces. It exhibits a superb salmon pink color under fluorescent light! This is a relatively sharp crystal that is nicely composed on a Calcite matrix - all in all, a rare combination. Trimmed from an old large specimen in the old dealer stock of Herb Obodda, who brought them out long ago.
